![]() It's a rather silly thing to say because at that way of looking at it, when you send audio to a bus, that audio passes through the audio driver before it comes back into logic. The IAC driver is only used for sending midi within Logic. The whole point of using the IAC bus is to route the data out of Logic and back in, because you can't do it internally (yet).Īlthough your rather argumentative answer maintains that the midi does leave logic, you are wrong that it does so for Audio Units. The MIDI info is output to the IAC bus (because au plugins in Logic cannot output MIDI data directly to Logic) - and thus leaves Logic - and comes back into Logic because Logic listens to all MIDI ports including the IAC bus. Of course it leaves Logic, it's the only way to do it. It's gonna make my life easier that's for sure. I have to say I could really fall in love with this plugin - it's better than the hyper editor as it can do chords very easily and it's just really handy. The connection between Thesys and the physical input is on Thesys itself. ![]() I've continued researching in the mean time and found that I need to activate the IAC driver in the audio and midi setup, create a physical input in Logic's environment and connect the IAC Bus output of your choice to the instrument of your choice, or, create a sequencer input and connect the IAC bus output to that - the latter means you only have to click on your instrument track to change the midi sequencer plugin's focus to it. ![]() Thesys does have a track in the environment but there is no contexual "Create/Select Arrange Track" in the environment and I would like to have a Thesys track in the arrange window for easy access.ĭoes anybody know an easy workaround for this problem? A way that I can use my midi sequencer and have a track for it in the arrange window? However - as Logic users will know - when a track in the arrange window is reassigned to an instrument it automatically becomes a midi instrument track which is primarily for distributing midi - and does not contain the instrument itself i.e. I then proceeded to take my cable out of the "Thesys Instrument" in the arrange window and into the piano track I had set up to work on a melody - all is still rosy in the garden, I am able to play my piano through Thesys' instrument as expected. I'm using it in Logic pro and it's actually considered a virtual instrument as opposed to an effect, so, I went about creating an instrument in the environment window and reassigning the Thesys Arrange track to that instrument. I've just got my hands on a demo of what appears to be a fantastic midi sequencer plugin called "Thesys" by Sugarbytes.
